Binh Phuoc is a province in the south of Vietnam on south of Vietnam. Binh Phuoc is the result of a merger of two former provinces: Phuoc Long Province and Binh Long Province, which existed before reunification. Both Phuoc Long and Binh Long then became part of Sông Bé Province in 1976, which also included Bình Duong Province. Sông Bé Province was dissolved in 1997 and Binh Phuoc again became a separate province.


About 130km from Ho Chi Minh city, Binh Phuoc province is surrounded by Cambodia on the north and north-west, Dak Nong and Lam Dong provinces on the east, Dong Nai and Binh Duong provinces on the south and Tay Ninh Province on the west.


Binh Phuoc is not famous tourist destination but has many potential landscapes and vestiges. They are Mo Waterfall, Ba Ra Mountain, Waterfall No. 4, Bau Lach grass field. The historic sites are Mien military committee, Loc Hoa and Loc Quang fuel dumps. The first communist party cell of Mekong Delta was born in Phu Rieng commune, Phuoc Long District. Other famous sites include Soc Xiem and Suoi Lam tourist areas, Bu Gia Map National Park, Bombo Village.


The main ethnic groups living in that province are the Kinh, Xtieng, Hoa, Khmer, Tay and Nung. The interesting traditional festivals are Xtieng's praying for rain and New Rice Festival of the M'Nong.



1. Bu Dang rubber forest
Binh Phuoc is famous for its vast rubber forests, but the most planted place is probably Bu Dang. Here people plant rubber trees between the young and old forests to create a lacquer painting of all colors from green yellow to orange red on a vast expanse of land. At the end of the year, when the earth and sky transfer the old year and the new year, you can come here for a picnic, sit on the thick dry carpet and watch the yellow leaves fall whenever the wind blows.


2. Bu Gia Map National Park
Bu Gia Map National Park is located in the Northeast of Binh Phuoc Province, in Bu Gia Map Commune, Bu Gia Map District. The complementary national park is also known as a remnant primeval forest of Binh Phuoc province. This national park is also an attractive tourist destination for those who love to explore new wildlife, for those who love adventure.


Besides, it is also a place to conserve rare and precious plants, rare and precious gene sources of the flora and fauna system and plant varieties on Vietnam's special list. This is a wild forest, extremely rich in high biodiversity resources. Bu Gia Map is also known as a historical site during the anti-American resistance war. This place is associated with extremely fierce battles in the Southeast.


3. Soc Bom Bo or Bom Bo village

Soc Bom Bo or Bom Bo village is located on Binh Minh commune, Bu Dang district, Binh Phuoc province, from Dong Xoai town, go straight to Highway 14 towards Bu Dang about 50 km.

Soc Bom Bo was formed from the period of resistance against the US,  Bombo villagers are mostly from the S'tieng people who cultivate upland fields. The village's Elderest is Dieu Len is considered the image of Bombo people in the resistance and village building. 

Many Vietnamese hear the name Soc Bom Bo via the song “The Sound of rice pounder on Soc BomBo” of famous musician Xuan Hong. This song contains positive energy and refects the spirit of lively Bombo village.

Coming to BomBo squirrel today, tourists will have the opportunity to recall the vibrant years that the S'tieng people here have turned towards the revolution - the bustling sound of the pounding of rice and the sound of gongs resounding in the firelight, drinking wine, enjoying barbecue ...


4. Bu Lach grassland
This is a large grassland with an area of ​​about 500 hectares, including nearly 20 different large and small grasslands. Coming to Bu Lach grassland, visitors will have to admire, marvel at the miraculous beauty that nature has bestowed. It is the needle grass growing intertwined with flowers, making the scenery beautiful here so ten thousand times full of enchantment around a primeval forest. Just looking at it makes your eyes satisfied and can dispel all the sorrow and tiredness by nature here. It was a wonderful feeling. 


5. Suoi Lam lake
Suoi Lam Lake is a meeting place of small streams that make the lake surface clear and dreaming in a charming way, around the lake there are many trees year round year round shady, in straight lines of trees under the lake. The lake is about 10km from the center of Binh Phuoc province. Suoi Lam Lake has become a romantic and very attractive tourist destination. From a distance, visitors can see that Suoi Lam Lake has many similarities with Xuan Huong Lake in Dalat.  Coming here to enjoy all the beauty of it, perhaps the afternoon scene here is the most interesting, at that time the scenery of the lake is very peaceful and beautiful like a poetic picture. In the morning, the mist flying over the reflective lake creates a magical blue. From there, it was called Ho Suoi Lam. Around the lake there are many kinds of flowers blooming all year round, it further enhances the wild beauty of this lake. It can be said that Ho Suoi Lam is one of the attractive Binh Phuoc tourist destinations and attracts many tourists.


6. Ba Ra Mountain - Mo waterfalls 
Ba Ra Mountain -  Mo waterfalls is located in Son Giang and Thac Mo wards of Binh Phuoc province, about 180km from Ho Chi Minh City. This is called the highest mountain of Binh Phuoc province and the third highest of the Southern region and this is the destination of many backpackers and trekking. Standing above the mountain, visitors can see the surrounding districts and the beautiful Thac Mo hydroelectric lake at night. Mo waterfall lake in the middle of the lake also has many small islands, surrounded by shady trees, four seasons of green trees, the surrounding scenery is quite pristine. Thac Mo Lake is a place to supply water, regulate floods for the whole region, creating an environment for aquaculture to serve the lives of the people here. Thac Mo Lake combined with Ba Ra Mountain has created a cluster of peaceful tourist sites on the mountain, under the lake creating a poetic and attractive scenery to attract tourists.


7. Standing Waterfall
Standing Waterfall is a place not to be missed when coming to Binh Phuoc. The waterfall is about 4-6m high and 10m wide and is hidden in deep forest, belonging to Doan Ket commune, Bu Dang district, Binh Phuoc province.


Standing waterfall is endowed by nature with unique tectonic features full of wildness, and was named the most beautiful waterfall of Binh Phuoc province.


8. Elephant waterfalls
Elephant waterfall belongs to Bu Dang District of Binh Phuoc Province. The road to the elephant waterfall is quite small, bumpy, winding along the hills and mountains that require the driver to be a solid steering wheel. Around the waterfall, elephants have many large and flat rocks. Guests can feel cool when sitting on the rocks. In the dry season, the flow of light water will create a feeling of lightheadedness and indescribable coolness to drop soul in the mountain dances here. Its name is waterfall because hundreds of elephants have come here to drink and play


Binh Phuoc specialities


1. Cashew nut cake
Cashew nut cake is another specialty from cashew nuts which is popular with tourists to Binh Phuoc. The main ingredients for making cashew bread are cashew nuts, baking powder, cinnamon powder, chicken eggs, sugar, wheat flour, a little bit of cooking oil.
Before making the cake, people bring cashew nuts to wash thoroughly, soak in water for about 10 minutes for soft cashews, then remove the cashew nuts and let the cashews drain, want to quickly use a dry towel. Next, mix flour, baking powder, and cinnamon powder together. Then the butter and sugar are added to the whisk to form an ice cream, then beat the eggs with the cooking oil.


Finally, add all the flour to the machine to form the final mixture. After all is done, mix the cashew nuts well. After preparing the ingredients, bring it to the oven, at a temperature of about 1,500-2,000 degrees Celsius. Cashew nuts cake when cooked will be golden in color of eggs, white in flour, combined with aroma and the crispy taste of cashew nuts, the aroma of cinnamon powder, the sweetness of sugar, the fatty taste of cooking oil is very attractive.


2. Roasted cashews with salt
As a land specializing in cashew cultivation, Binh Phuoc salt roasted cashews retains intact the silk shell, sweetness, rich aroma. When eating cashew nuts are crispy and keep the flavor longer than other regional cashews.


The silk shell is a thin, patchy brown crust sometimes mixed with white, which separates the edible cashew kernel and the hard outer protective shell. In the process of removing cashew kernels for kernels, this stage of peeling off the silk crust is one of the most complicated stages because it is easy to break the nuts, causing a significant decrease in the value of the product.


3.Milk Cicada 
This dish is rare because it takes a lot of effort to process ingredients. Cicadas are insects that live heavily on cashew, rubber or forest trees in Binh Phuoc. Cicadas, after the summer, they will molt mass on cashew trees, rubber ... In the early evening, around 17-18h they molt simultaneously and very quickly, we can harvest them and process. And these molting mites are called milk cicadas.


After catching ticks, people put the ticks in a plastic bag and then seal it and bring it to fry (fry). Put a pan of oil on the stove, wait for the oil to boil, quickly remove the ticks. When the yellow ticks and smells good, the ticks are ripe. Crispy fried cicadas are often served with raw and garlic chili sauce. The golden, greasy and crunchy mites along with the fragrance are very attractive and appealing.


4. The rattan shoot  "Đọt mây"
The rattan shoot is an indispensable dish in the meal of the S’Tieng people in Binh Phuoc. Bunch of rattan under charcoal, fragrant, greasy.


Eating Đọt mây, you will feel bitter and sweet in the throat. Dot Đọt mây with chilli salt and lemon plus a little lemon, you have found the quintessential quintessence in the world. Not only that, but also eating rattan can cure bloating, flatulence and alcohol.


5. Nhip Leaves  
Go to Binh Phuoc, it is easier to buy Nhip Leaves than Đọt Mây. District markets and along the way to trafficking of S’tieng ethnic people are easy to find places to buy. Young Nhip Leaves  have a reddish color, and the leaves are green. When cooked, the leaves taste pliable, sweet and fleshy. Not only delicious, Nhip Leaves   also provide a lot of energy, help restore health.
